This ancient spice and medicinal herb grows to a height of 20 – 40 cm. Its stalks are 1 – 4 cm long and 2 – 3 cm wide with bright green to dark green leaves.
Coriander has an intense fragrance and strong flavour. While the leaves are commonly used in Asian cuisine, the seeds are mainly used in Europe, e.g. for baked goods such as bread, gingerbread or
speculoos. However, it also lends its characteristic flavour to a number of meat and sausage products, salads, soups and stews. Coriander also retains its own flavour when added to cooking.
