Sorrel grows lettuce-like up to 40 cm high. Its fresh green leaves grow on a short stalk and are 2 to 4 cm wide and 10 to 25 cm long. Its name is no coincidence, as it tastes sour and fresh and is reminiscent of lemons.
Sorrel is a main ingredient in Frankfurt Green Sauce, but is also suitable for salad dressings, e.g. in a spring herb mix. It also enriches dips, quark and fresh bread toppings with its flavor. It is also popular for creamy soups.
