Ocimum basilikum 'Thai'

Thai basil is related to the European basil plant. In contrast to European basil, however, it has an aniseed and licorice-like smell and is therefore also known as “sweet basil”. In comparison, its leaves are larger and more elongated and are flat rather than ovoid.

Thai basil leaves are mainly used in ready-made dishes or cooked shortly before the dish is ready, as they quickly lose their aroma when cooked.

TIPS FOR USE

You can do without aromatic oil in the curry, as Thai basil is already very aromatic in itself.
